Various Things...

We’re coming up on convention season at the Audio Damage Social Networking And Community Outreach Center, otherwise known as the third bedroom in my house. I took that as a sign that I should probably get business cards with the new logo. At the risk of going all American Psycho on this shit (the which I have a definite tendency to do, as anyone that has the misfortune of being on my iChat Buddy List will attest), I got the 16 pt silk cards with .25” rounded corners from Taste Of Ink, who are a bit pricey but a quality shop for this sort of thing.

So anyhow, on to the conventions: AES is next week in San Francisco; if you’re attending, and want to rant at me in person, hit me up, but note I’ll only be there on Saturday, and only on the exhibition floor, since the thought of sitting through someone reading a paper about new ways to simulate the resonance of toilet paper tubes with Math! makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Then we have NAMM in January. This may come as a shock to people that haven’t been reading this blog for a long time, but AD are not members of NAMM (mostly because the people in charge of membership think these newfangled “computer” things are just a fad, and also because they’re sort of asshole-ish) and I have never attended a NAMM show. I’ve been assured by virtually everyone I know that it’s like Guitar Center on Memorial Day Weekend, on meth, times 10,000. I have no reason to doubt that, but even so, it’s fucking Anaheim, and I can always pop over to Disneyland. Also too, a lot of the people that have told me this are most assuredly not of the Type A personality, and I actually kind of relish the opportunity to just be ridiculously rude and get away with it that a convention packed full of has-been musicians and fanny-packed salesmen provides.

After that, Musikmesse, which I’m going to make a concerted effort to attend, and NAB in Vegas. Should be a hoot all around.

And in other news, SAMPLES! Goldbaby have a new set, the iAm MS20, which is exactly what you think it is. I don’t even need to tell you about it, or why you should get it, because you’re smart, and you already know. Also, Wade has put a monster freebie collection up on BeatServ, which has chunks from everything they’ve made.

And finally, I’ll almost certainly unveil the next Naughty Panther release tomorrow; just touching up the UI a bit today; it isn’t in the state where a screenshot would do it justice, but hopefully today’s work will change that.
