Aeon...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

The above is a screenshot of Aeon, the next Naughty Panther release. It is functionally similar to DroneStation, inasmuch as it is an envelope-free environment, but it’s iPad-only. As you can see, I’m not quite done with the panel yet; I’m going to add reverb and delay, which is what those empty sliders on the upper right are for.
The whole synth engine is in place, though, and working fine, and I should be able to submit this to Apple in the next day or two. I’m only gonna charge like $2.99 for it, or thereabouts.
If you recall a post from a couple months ago on the subject, my original intention was to make some sort of “Dronestation HD” or some shit; however, I didn’t think that served any purpose, and started over from bare metal a couple days ago. The interesting thing about this synth, from an academic standpoint, is that there is not a single PNG, nor a single sampled waveform; nor am I using a single built-in Apple control (except for the presets button and bar up top, which I may yet do away with.) The entire thing is done procedurally, which, as you know, makes me happy.
Anyhow, once everything is done and submitted, I’ll do a video; the goal here, as it was with Dronestation on the iPhone, is to make a usable synth that embraces the paradigm and form-factor of the iPad.
