Buchla re-releases Series 200 modular!

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

This is worth a “wow,” if you’re in to this sort of thing, which I am. Don Buchla, one of the original Iron Men of analog synth design, has decided to release an updated version of his Series 200 modular. Check it out. Buchla is one of the Holy Trinity of modular synths, the other two being Serge and Moog. In all honesty, if I had $19,850 lying around, I can’t say for certain that I would spend it on a modular; I could think of a lot of ways that money could go further. But that said, this thing is worth every dime. It has a feature set so far beyond current modular systems manufacturers’ offerings that you can’t even really say it’s in the same category. Hats off to Don for what is obviously a well thought-out and detailed system.

In other news, we got _whomped_ on today with Ratshack Reverb sales. Ratshack’s first day as a product is our best single day ever at Audio Damage, so a big “thank you” to everyone that decided to support our little company. Because of the success of this low price-point plug-in, I’ve been thinking of other designs that might fit the same niche. When Adam gets back from his well-deserved vacation later this month, we’ll figure out where we’re going after the RTAS ports are done.
