Various Things...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

1 - BigSeq2 is forging ahead. I’ve completely re-designed the user interface from scratch, due to comments/criticism about the Rough Rider Pro interface, which was essentially the same as the original BS2 one. (Or the one for public consumption, anyhow. The current one is the 9th full interface I’ve done for BS2. I’ll put up a post soon with all 9, so you can see the progression. It is highly comical.) Barring any unforeseen problems, and I’d say the likelihood of those is virtually certain given past performance on this plug, we’re maybe 3 weeks away on that.

2 - My wife has been working on a re-design of AI, as I mentioned a while back, and that’ll be going live not too long from now. But one of the coolest aspects is a version of the new site specifically designed for mobile devices (really specifically, for the iPhone and Touch, but it seems to work fine on other phones with browsers.) She got it mostly done last night, and it is very slick, I have to say. On your “big” computer, you’ll get one version, and on your mobile, you can choose between the normal version or the mobile-specific one.

3 - Adam still has his Omega 8 for sale. Read about it here. And also, inexplicably, an Apple Studio Display with Audio Damage pedigree.

4 - While I had to sell half my instruments to get it, I have to say that my new recording/summing rig is the fucking BOMB, and I don’t even have the D-Box yet. I have enough left for a 2-buss comp; just trying to decide which one to get. Right now I’m wavering between the API 2500, the much-less-expensive Drawmer 1968(ME), and just waiting until I can afford the Thermionic Culture Phoenix ME, and grabbing a UAD2 in the meantime. (That’ll be a long wait; that fucking thing is expensive.)

That’s it for now. Back to work.
