Busy busy open thread...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

My wife and I got season tickets to the Oregon Symphony and the first concert was on Sunday, Beethoven’s 9th. I’m continually stunned by the chops that dude had. He’s all like “okay, I’ve got one more in me, so I’m gonna lay down some stink for you guys…” The build-up that starts in the beginning of the third movement and continues more or less unabated until the end, the archetype of the never-ending trance snare roll, is fucking unbelievable. Just thinking that he did it all stone deaf makes it all that much more amazing.

Before the concert, we went and looked at some potential places for our eventual move to PDX. What with having my studio/office, my wife’s office, and a frakkin’ great boatload of product for the label, our needs are somewhat peculiar. I’d prefer to just outright buy something, but apparently Warren Buffet couldn’t get a damn mortgage now, let alone my skinny white ass. But like any problem, I imagine if we throw enough money at it, it’ll sort of solve itself. I may be looking for an outside studio to house my gear, though, depending on what we end up with. (I’m sure that comment will engender all sorts of “hey, Chris, you’re more than welcome to keep all your music shit at my house” emails.)

Anyhow, it was back to Real Work on Monday, as we begin the design process for our next product. This will necessarily be a truncated work week, as I have a dentist appointment Tuesday, and leave for NAMM on Friday morning. The subject of this open thread is our usual “hey, what would you like Audio Damage to make next” question we generally ask at this juncture.
