Unintentional Vintage Humor...

As the local head of the Musical Computing subset of the Society For Creative Anachronism, I’m always on the lookout for something fun to start each meeting with. I came across a NOS unopened copy of MacDrums on eBay last week, and couldn’t pass it up for $3.99 or whatever it was. It just showed up in the mail, and the last two sentences on the cover copy started me on a fit of giggles that is still going strong, nigh on ten minutes later.
But wait, there’s more! It comes with a MacDrums wrist sweat band, to keep your mousing hand dry while you type in the tom-n-double-kick intro to “Hot For Teacher.” I think more software should come with clothing accessories; it’s an overlooked area, to be sure. Ableton underwear, Cubase t-shirts. I suppose ProTools would come with kneepads.
UPDATE: Apparently, my stable of old Macs is too modern for this program; if that image above doesn’t bring back fond memories, perhaps the paperclip I needed to un-bend to get the disk out of the drive will. I can’t begin to put my disappointment in to words. Wouldn’t work in the PB100. Wouldn’t work in the PB165C. Wouldn’t work in the IIci. I guess I need to scare up a 512K or something. Great. That should be easy.
