Hard-Core Gear Porn...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

Jeffrey Lee rightly pointed out that I haven’t done a HCGP post in a while, and in all modesty submitted his humble studio for consideration. Not so humble, as it turns out. Located in Toronto (my second-favorite city in North America), Jeffrey’s studio has everything a growing boy needs. A little shy in the pro audio department for my tastes, but to say he has a fairly comprehensive synth collection would be to understate the matter somewhat. One of the bigger Modcan B systems around, for sure (I think it’s bigger than Analogue Haven’s display system, truth be told), and the current Holy Of Holies, the MacBeth M5, along with many of the other usual suspects.

He gets extra credit from me for not having a Behringer or Mackie mixer; personally, I think the collection warrants a much higher quality console, mic pres, comps, etc., but you already knew I was going to say that, so I won’t pine. Note that the picture above is the left-hand photo in a four-image panorama; you can find the rest, as well as a brief explanation of the studio, in this post on Jeffrey’s EM411 blog.
