500-series module porn...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

Well, Messe is right around the corner, and we’ve got whatever the Roland Red thing is, and the new Moog, and the Focusrite Liquid Mix, and I’m sure many other nice things that We Can’t Live Without. However, whenever these big shows come about, I’m left with the nagging feeling that there are plenty of really nice things already here that I don’t have.
Case in point: this thread on Gearslutz is where our friend Adam Jay posted images of his 500-series rack of mic pres. That is one sexy slice of input, right there. Four OSA pres, four Pacifica pres (in 3 different flavors, natch), a Purple Biz, a Shadow Hills Gamma, and an API 512. That’s seven distinctly different flavors of high-end mic pre in a 3U rack. Of course, Adam no doubt spent a healthy chunk of change on this rack, but he’ll be able to take it to his grave, knowing that no matter where he goes or what he has to record, he’s pretty much set. (Personally, I’d swap out two of the OSA pres with Averils, but that’s just me.)
It’s gear like this that makes it worth getting up in the morning, and I’m insanely jealous. Visit the thread for more pics.
