Just found out about this today, via the MusicThing blog. It seems this young feller has made a MIDI interface and software combo, called MIDINES and NESFX respectively. These two things, used in concert and as the names imply, turn your Nintendo Entertainment System in to a MIDI-capable synthesizer.
w00t, etc. Judging from the sound samples, this is _right_ up my alley, and has been immediately placed in the “must… have… now…” file for future purchase. I thought the Atari one from a couple years ago was pretty nifty but ultimately useless, unfortunately, as it couldn’t be properly tuned. This is a whole different basket of eggs, here, what with the MIDI and all.
