Hey, now!
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.
The previous post apparently had a tenor that suggested I might be a Mac Hater, at least according to some e-mail I received during the night. Let me state for the record that I swing both ways. My main music production computer is a PC, but I also have Mac action. In point of fact, I am a Mac Lover. I’ve drank the kool-aid.
As it happens, I have 9 (nine!) Macs. I have this iBook G4, which I use for everything. I have an SE and an SE/30. I have a PB100, a PB150, a PB165C, and a PB170, and a Mac Plus. I just got a Mac IIci, which I am turning in to a classic music machine. It’ll have an AudioMedia II card and a SampleCell card, and be for running Turbosynth, SampleCell, and maybe an old build of PT or Deck or something. What I’d really like to put in it is a NuVerb card, but those are a little hard to come by.
I’m currently lusting after the new iMacs. I’ll be getting one as soon as they rev it. My AD partner Adam has convinced me that it is a Bad Idea to buy the very first model of any new Mac; since he has more Mac Cred than I, I’ll take him at his word, and wait.
Anyways, there’s nothing wrong with being militantly for or against a particular platform or piece of software. You just have to keep in mind that other people may see things differently.
