Updates? We Got Yer Updates...

I'm neck deep in the UI design for the next AD product, which is why I've been unusually silent these last couple days. It is another instrument, and I'm pleased to say that it is truly odd. As far as I'm aware, nobody has done anything like this. Well, maybe some graduate student did it for their masters thesis on Breaking Down The Barriers Between Artist And Audience, but as best I can tell, the concept has never appeared in plug-in form.

That's all we're willing to tell right now, unfortunately. This will be the strangest product we've made, and that's saying something, as we have some fairly strange products.

In other news, the Full Of Techno t-shirt will go up for pre-order on Monday or thereabouts. Looks like it's going to be the same price as the previous shirts, $20. That was tricky to pull off, as it has three colors where the others only had one. I'll put up the final artwork over the weekend, and we can go to town on it.

And finally, the new AI site (which has been idling for a couple reasons) is essentially done, so one day Real Soon Now, you'll visit and the site will look completely different. It'll still be orange and white, of course. There is also a full mobile site for smartphone users that makes things pretty easy to deal with in that context.

I'll be in for the T-shirt and the weirdness.

Truly odd instruments are what the world needs right now. Thank you.

Well now I'm supercurious and trying to exercise some modicum of patience. Damn you.

If my guess is correct, and I'm assuming it is, the new AD product will be the long awaited Tourette's Swearizer. An analog modeling vocoder that spits out vocoded profanities at random. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this!

yeah I built a Sweariser in KSP Script for Kontakt but the fucking thing wouldn't stay in tune...

I am hoping the new thing is something that is hard to fully control, something a little wild and difficult. Slightly unstable. Slightly do-what-IT-wants-not-what-YOU-want.

Whatever. Just make that shit PHATT. You know I like my shit PHATT, right? Make it PHATT and let it do what it do.

Well, Chad, you'll get your wish. About the first thing. I don't think this particular instrument will actually be "PHATT" as such. I'll talk to Adam about adding a back-lit starved plate tube.

Man, that special non-linear back-lit-starved-plate-tube emulation technology will probably turn out to be some of your most valuable IP. You get that shit down and all the big boys will want to license it.

Can it be warm and punchy at least?
