All Kinds Of Fun New Toys...
Post Comment
Yep, just a whole heapin' pile of fun stuff came out this weekend. In no particular order:

1. Valhalla DSP releases ValhallaFreqEcho MkI: Sean Costello, who comments here often (but don't let that dissuade you) and who wrote the 'verb algos in Eos and the freq shifter algo in BigSeq2, has released a version of his FreqEcho freebie with a GUI. Go forth and git some. Frequency shifter and analog-style delay. Two great tastes that taste great together.

2. DMG Audio releases EQuality: Our good friend Dave Gamble, formerly of Sonalksis, has started his own company, DMG Audio, and the first product, EQuality, is now available. I bet, from the name, that you're guessing it's a bitcrusher/delay. Well, you'd be wrong. Hit that shit and check out the demo. A fantastic EQ that I highly recommend.

3. midipad: Yeah, who would have guessed someone would do this before the iPad was even released? Gee, I dunno. Certainly not me. If you're still wondering why people like me think the iPad is the New Hotness, this app, and the many more like it that are about to be released, is the reason why.

Anyhow, back to work. Discord3 is coming along nicely; Adam is hooking everything back up, and we have some minor issues with the GUI that need to be worked out. I doubt it will be done before Adam makes his yearly hajj to Japan, but not long now. I should be able to do videos of the new features shortly, regardless. I'm also working on the iPad version of DroneStation simultaneously; I'll have a screenshot or two for you as soon as I've got something I'm happy with.

And finally, did I mention that the last 5 days it was 80F or more for the high temp here? (That's 27C or more, for you Communists that subscribe to the metric system.) This place fucking rules. Tack another 30F on to that, and I might start being truly happy. I'm a freak of nature, but I'm comfortable with that fact.

Good for you!
Us Communists have -10c and it fucking snows again.

Thanx for the Valhalla tip, need to check that asap.

Speaking of Sonalksis, why have they done like nothing since 2008?

Like the Valhalla, thanks for pointing that out.

That Eq looks good. Sent my email for a demo licence. The webpage could do with making the price of it clearer though. Had to read the wiki to find the pricing.

£74.99 is a very good introduction offer if the EQ is of sonalksis quality, so I dont see why he doesnt make a bigger thing out of the special offer?

FreqEcho is a deceptively simple, powerful tool for "painterly" sound-blurring.

I like.

Oh you'll get that 30+, and more I'd wager :-)

But seriously, I love the Arizona summer, it's worth it for the thunderstorms alone.

Hmm well I guess I'm alone in dreading the upcoming heat. Screw this place in the summer time, screw it I say!

Thanks for the shout out Chris! Getting FreqEcho out the door has renewed my appreciation for the work you and Adam do in putting out bug free, cross platform plugins.
