Tattoo's MIDI Output...
Post Comment

This is a short example of Tattoo driving my TX802 via MIDI. No sounds are coming from Tattoo; this is entirely TX, with no effects whatsoever other than a touch of compression. There's a bit of randomization on the Foot (Click Drum!) and the snare-ish high-hat-ish sound, but mostly it's just a simple two-bar pattern that plays twice.

We're very close to having the Windows side of things done and in to beta. We just have to touch up the sounds now, as everything else has been addressed. I'm currently not terribly happy with the cymbals, so we're going to tackle those on Monday, and hopefully we'll be moving to the Mac side no later than Wednesday.

Sweet! This is, by far, the most interesting feature. I'm sure it will sound full of techno, but I have a bunch of other things I'd like to drive with a pattern sequencer as well.

Can you comment on how the swing settings are implemented? You stated earlier they were modeled on the 909, tbu the UI looks like a slider, is it stepped or do you interpolate between the 909 shuffle settings?

I love driving FM synths with drum machines. I sequence my TX81Z with my Machinedrum quite often. Loads of fun!

Can't wait for this to be finished!

I love these indestructable black boxes... low as their output may be.
