As such, this is a topic-free open thread. What's on your mind? New music you like? Want to talk about some piece of gear I haven't mentioned? Anything goes. Anything that isn't completely and utterly retarded, anyways.
So I get out here and inadvertently picked the worst dental Boeing has (they will cover about half of the root canal and about half of the crown), so I'm staring down the barrel of 7k out of pocket until November when I can change plans. Then one of the temps fell out on a tooth she hadn't finished the canal on. I'm starting to like living with the pain. I have to pick up some supplemental dental before I die, it sucks trying too catch up on the tooth neglect from our 20's.
Here is a another topic for you all.
your weirdest car crash.
I left work today and it was snowing here in Seattle that apparently means stop and go, even if it's 40 out and the snow isn't sticking.
Well I was trucking up the on ramp headed around a sort of blind corner to find stopped traffic. 68' Ford pick up 1 brand new Lexus 0, hahahahahaha.

but i have a question here.
what is a good sound editor for mac?
i primarily use a pc and for that i use adobe audition.
but for my mac book i cant seem to find anything like it aside from selling my soul to buy protools and peak (both of which i really dislike).
what i am interested in is something i can do standard editing with plus something that allows for basic multitracking.
obviously as i have live i could use it, but i prefer using programs designed for specific purposes.
is there such a thing?

link [audacity.sourceforge.net]
It is a little quirky/non-standard, and a little too buggy for power-user shit (I'd hack off my right arm before I'd use this in a professional setting with deadlines) but for home snipping/whatever, it is fine.

Can anyone think of a good sub $500 condenser mic that'll do a figure of eight pick-up? I'm looking for something to compliment one of my AT-4041's in an MS configuration for on location type recording. I'm thinking about an AKG Perception 420, but would like other options.

That aside, yes, I got an X8 too. CR and I are kind of chummy like that.
