May I Hate On AudioUnits Some More?
Post Comment
This whole thing with Apple development is actually getting fairly confusing, to where we're no longer entirely sure what the fuck is going on. What a stupid fucking format.

Anyways, come to find out, Ricochet wasn't responding properly to sample rate changes in Logic and DP, and crashed those two hosts at anything but 44.1. We've figured the problem out, and uploaded a fix, so Ricochet is Fully Operational in all Apple hosts, best as we can tell. If you've purchased Ricochet, and written me with Logic/DP problems, they're almost certainly fixed, so go download the installer from your account and there you go.

Again, on behalf of all the Logic users out there, I have to thank you for putting up with the Apple nonsense.

Ire, ire, virtriol,
Its absence nice but strange--
Returning, harsh, familiar--
Chris sights a Fucktard in range!

You want fucktard material? It is truly stupefying how many people buy our products then write me a letter that says the following, or some permutation thereof:

"Hi, I just bought Plugin X and it installed okay, but it isn't showing up in ProTools. What do I need to do?"

Since we've started this company almost four years ago, not a week has gone by that hasn't happened, and sometimes two or three times in a day (like today, for instance.) I mean, really, now.

God. Have you just put together a form response for them pointing such users toward some kind of wrapper?

umm yeah... so as long as you brought the subject up, why doesn't show up in pro tools?

dan s, I hope you're just being a wise guy.

If I was going to point them to a rapper, it would be Melle Mel.
Seriously though, I thought most versions of PT came with Live Lite. Being able to use Audio Damage plugins is a great reason to finally try it out. They can rewire it too. Or simply throw up blood.

Typically we don't point them towards some kind of wrapper, because if they're too stupid to read our website before buying the plug-in, the odds of them being able to muster the brain cells necessary to obtain, install, and configure a wrapper correctly are really slim, and then they'll just come back to us to complain anyway when it doesn't work right.

Now that I think about it, though, maybe we should start telling them to ask Digidesign when they're going to release a version of PT that's compatible with AD plug-ins...

Yeah, no doubt Doug E Fresh with his freakin' Inspector Gadget samples and James Brownsian rip offs.

I totally hear you on not wanting to point them to a VST wrapper 'cause somehow people manage to destroy their systems installing wallpapers and Firefox. BTW, RICOCHET RULES. Lovin' it.

Speaking of Fucktarded,

why doesn't Grindhouse show up in ProTools? I totally need to phukk with my beats and I just can't figure it out how to make it work.... I want to add the Grindhouse plug in to my arsenal and make some phattee beatz!!!!!

Anyways, I was walking to Safeway past a restaurant with nostalgic replicas on the walls, longing for a specialty brownie sundae, and what did I hear blaring onto the sidewalk but some shit remix of kRYPToPS phatt33 beats! Totally de-Grindhoused! Not glitchy or that cool at all! And it had some chick singing over it!

It was fucked!

Which all goes to show, btw. Dude, that plugin rocks!
