Adam rightly pointed out two facts: first, Matthew is also a developer (responsible for the GUIs of several MOTU products that I know about, and lord knows what besides) and thus by his own standards should sit down and shut the fuck up, and secondly, it is perfectly acceptable for one company to berate another, within the limits of legality in this country.
Is it irresponsible for me to repeatedly ask you, my dear readers, to not use Digidesign products, using "facts" based entirely on my own personal bias? Or to publicly share Adam's belief that PACE is stupid, useless, and harmful? As long as we're all out in the open about who we work for and why we're stating an opinion, it's up to the reader/consumer to decide. Caveat emptor and all that.
If Adam posted in forums under a different name, _that_ would be irresponsible, I fully agree. But in his missive, he mentions his ownership stake in Audio Damage quite clearly. One could, if one had an axe to grind, say "hey, Audio Damage doesn't use PACE, and some of their direct competition does. There may be something going on here," but if Adam mentioned that fact outright, which I believe he takes pains to do, then it's fucking moot.
In any event, I suppose there's nothing to be gained from attacking Matthew personally simply because I don't agree with him. So I won't bother. But I feel that he should have been clear from the get-go that he also has a horse in this race. It does change things a bit, doesn't it?
Irresponsible? Let me introduce you to Deez Nutz.
Try to tweak the envelopes, you'll see what I mean. It's so stiff. Ruined a perfectly good synth.
its like the whole music industry, theres way too much guarding the chicken coup whilst theyre all running out the back door - and not nearly enough focus on gettin good eggs out there at a fair price.
Ahem, either way..I'll continue to support excellent plugins which are fairly priced (such as the ones by your good selves) and continue to let others be fooled into buying Waves etc because Protools has the word PRO in it.

I don't want there to be any confusion. Mr. Davidson, aside from being terribly misguided on this particular issue, is not, in actual fact, an asstard. The SlapDelay fellow unfortunately is.
He also runs ProTooler, so he is, in my eyes, a Pro Tool already. The article on SlapDelay is just the icing on the cake.
