Yout00bin'

by Chris Randall

As it turns out, my hypocrisy knows no limits. Neither, apparently, does my ability to generate zeros and ones. I've started what will no doubt be an incredibly tedious and self-aggrandizing process by creating a YouTube channel of my very own. (It seems, however, that I "have no friends." That's just terrible.)

In any event, by way of testing this new-fangled interwebs thing, I made and uploaded a quick video of my spankin' new MonoMachine, along with its elder sibling the MachineDrum. There's a bit of The Source in there because, well, if you have one, it pretty much makes its way in to everything, I've found. No particular reason or musical merit (noting, of course, that I had the MonoMachine for all of half an hour before I did this, and I think the The Source is out of tune, to boot) for this particular chore, other than to join the daily Fucktard Parade that is YouTube, I suppose. Heretic_D?
I approve of the scrolling LED "Micronaut."

Classy.

You missed the one behind me. That is the better one, but it takes a keen eye.

Have you been getting any use out of that Kaoss 3, or is it just around for its vital "marquee screensaver" abilities?

I use it occasionally. It isn't the Hub of my Performing Lifestyle or anything. If I played out more (read: ever) I would probably make more use of it. It's just generally a fucking drag to go find RCA->1/4"->RCA cables to actually plug it in.

EDIT: It's worth noting that now that it is a proper sampler (sort of) with the 2.0 OS, I'll probably make more use of it. What you see in the video above is _not_ how I actually make music for the most part. That's just for fun. But a video of me writing a song would be about 25 hours of watching me move audio files around in C4. I don't think that would be interesting, even to my mom.

Maybe we should start posting vids of us working on AD plug-ins. I'm sure lots of people would like to watch us stare at computers for hours on end, occasionally spouting short bits of profanity and/or glee.

My wife's a vegetarian, which sort of makes me one, but I do enjoy a good burger.

That said, I eat like a pig. I just eat like a healthy pig. No McDonalds, in other words. And I'm 6'4" tall, as well.

That clip is, truly, Full of Techno -tm-.

"But a video of me writing a song would be about 25 hours of watching me move audio files around in C4."

Ouch. Sounds scarily familiar... maybe I should actually, for once, think about getting a life.

Good stuff. I really like the look of the machine drum and mono machine :-)

So, when is the new Micronaut album coming out? Anytime soon?
