Here's what I'm thinking...

by Chris Randall

That's the general idea I'm going for. American Apparel heather grey ringer t-shirts. I'm waiting for a quote right now.

What happened to the gear porn friday, large synth collections, modular pics, new gear postings?? It semms this site is turned into a plug in/ audio damage marketing portal! Matrixsynth is what this site used to be.

What happened to Gear Porn Friday? I'll tell you: it got really fucking boring spending three or four hours every Thursday night looking for a reference to a site that didn't have a goddamned huge stack of synths plugged in to a Behringer mixer.

What happened to modular pics? I discovered that they all look intrinsically the same, and unfortunately, there really aren't that many nice ones. At the same time, I came to the rather stunning realization that modular synths, while an excellent hobby, are really fucking shitty for actually getting work done.

What happened to new gear postings? No one has released anything worth a shit in the last year or so. As soon as they do, I'll talk about it. There's plenty of vapor, though.

It semms [sic] this site is [sic] turned into [sic] a plug in/ audio damage marketing portal? Well, you're entitled to your opinion. The ratio of AD-related posts to non-AD posts has gone up a bit in the last couple weeks, but I try to mix it up. It just so happens that we had two products come out back to back, but I didn't talk about either any more than I usually do, or have since the beginning.

So while you may want to be spoon fed pretty pictures, the site is actually getting much more traffic once I stopped making fun of people all the time. There is no paid advertising, ebay or Amazon links, Google ads, anything on this site. There are only three companies advertised, two of which I own and one operated by friends. I don't make a single red cent from this bandwidth pig, so you'll either have to indulge me or take a fucking hike. Your choice, of course, but I don't accept criticism on the content of this site.

At all.

Personally I don't mind seeing you guys writing about new stuff and so forth - but what I'd really like to see is some kind of constructive thread about how people actually are using your plugs (as mentioned in the Liquid thread). After reading the post, I started to actually READ the manual for Replicator, and lots of things cleared up. Now I can do some neat tricks with it - but I still feel I'm barely scratching the shell of the egg. Not just focus on separate plugs, but more in the vein like... if you feed Replicator to Dr. Device and put another Replicant after... it screams like Freddie Mercury!

That sort of stuff. If possible. I'm sure you and Adam knows loads of stuff I could never dream about trying out./C

Just curious if, at first glance, anyone else sees the transformer-esque guy flipping the viewer off? I mean, granted, it's easy to tell if you look closer, and the logo's been around on the site for some time, but I could see this being not OK for me to wear at work because of what it looks like from 15 feet away.
