I just mastered Replicant. I understand all of the controls now and it is now fully under my command.
I have had it forever but never read the manual or fully understood all of the concepts. Just kinda dialed shit up randomly and accepted whatever psychedelic results I arrived at.
Now I can use it as an instrument.
I'm not proud of the fact that it took me this long to really sit down and study it.
It really is a piece of conceptual and UI genius. Sorry for the OT... I know we're all oohing and aahing over Liquid...
As you were.
I've just started using Replicant a lot as a send, especially with Dubstation after it, with repeats set to one. Great way to get delay selectively, instead of automating fades.
Although, the truth will out. Replicant is now our best selling plug-in (it is holding its narrow lead over Dubstation) and as the above posts indicate, people are getting that it isn't just another glitch plugin, but a versatile near-instrument.
Thanks for the kind words about the UI, though. We thought long and hard about that. What I'd really like to do is use that same circular UI (and the same two random controls) for a drum machine, but that's a ways down the road, if at all. (A) I have to talk Adam in to it, and (B) he'll have to invent all kinds of silly shit, and inventing silly shit is generally a money-losing proposition, we've found. If it weren't for Dubstation, we'd still be paying for Ronin.
(He's going to orally discipline me tomorrow for opening up this can-o-worms, I can tell already.)
Dr. Device --> Replicant
Sometime I put Dubstation after it, sometimes Reverence.
And I am still eagerly awaiting Ronin UB.
