Audio Damage Update and some other stuff...

by Chris Randall

I've just finished making the Liquid product page in the AD store, so if you're not bored of hearing clips of this plugin yet, there's some more for you. I'm not terribly good at making demo clips to begin with, and this morning I seemed to have entirely lost the ability to play guitar or keyboards, or program a drum machine. Hence, the ones there might not be a shining example of the demo clip art. If anyone has any suggestions in that regard, I'm more than willing to hear them.

In other news, Shepard Fairey was on the Henry Rollins Show last night (in my opinion, the single best television show produced in the United States) and his interview got me thinking about subversive iconography and such. I was actually somewhat inspired by the whole thing, to the point where I'm entertaining actually making Analog Industries stuff. Say, for instance, I made a nice vinyl AI sticker with the Space Invader saying something subversive. If you could Paypal me a buck and get a couple of them, would that be something you found interesting?

Some of you guys credit us with more cheek than we have. I've _never_ looked at the robot and thought he was flipping off the viewer.

I always see him flipping the bird too.

So, did anyone else happen to see this on Shepard's webpage: link []">link []

I have nothing against Shepard Fairey (quite the opposite, actually), but I thought it was kind of ironic, given the past conversation on AI regarding the Strummer, naturally, I figured I'd stir up a little shit. Got to do something to keep from tearing my eyes out here at work! (Or to keep from actually doing work...)

Given the shear quantity of his output, I think that it's safe to say that it can't _all_ be cool. The Joe Strummer guitar is intrinsically gay, I'll grant, but if Fender called me up and said "hey, we're doing a Joe Strummer guitar and we want you to make a sticker for it" I'd do it too.

Do you mean truly subversive and dangerous, like a shirt that shows the Prophet Mohammed DJ'ing, or do you mean safe-subversive, like the standard Che-face or Bushitler cliches?

I'm going to have to ask you to let me play the ass-hat here, OK?

1) No interest in stickers.
2) While definitely cute, the AI alien dude doesn't strike me as subversive. I would say it's a meme at best. I think a sticker will be misconstrued as a riff on the popular Atari-retro kick. (Walked into a Hot Topic recently? Not that I recommend it...)
3) The robot has always been flipping me off.

I'll have to keep an eye out for a repeat of the Fairey episode. Bummed that I missed it.

Now, why the FUCK would _I_ walk in to a Hot Topic? Ever?

My Chemical Romance Fire Zip Hoodie?

i'd buy a sticker that says "pro audio gear is for asshats."
