For the record, I am having a couple problems with Nuendo 3 in Vista that people with similar setups should take in to consideration. Well, one isn't a Steinberg issue, I don't think. Firstly, there are no drivers available that Vista can recognize as such for my MIDI interface (M-Audio MIDIsport 2x2) so I'm stuck using the MIDI ports on my Novation Remote. However, recording MIDI that comes in through the Novation is odd; note-offs aren't making it through the clutter and the time stamping is fucked.

So, that's probably minor. The next bit is not. Nuendo can't export audio. By that, I mean that export->audio file doesn't work. You get the file/format browser, then when you select "okay," no matter what format, it just goes back to normal operation without rendering anything. I haven't been able to find any information on this particular issue, so I just nutted up and bought Cubase 4. Yes, I'm the sort of person that buys a new car when the old one gets a flat tire, apparently.

Long story short, you'll get a Crandall-flavored review of Cubase 4 in a few days.

MEA CULPA: I'm a retard. There was one checkbox which is usually ticked which wasn't. Nuendo renders fine in Vista. So ignore basically everything I just wrote. However, Cubase 4 is still ordered.

I cannot begin to count how many times I fumbled with program settings in front of a screen for HOURS on end to find out I was a retard too. : ) ( Its always the check box you never saw, that was right in front of you, lol )

Its the nature of the beast,

So is there any difference in the the audio engine between Cubase and Nuendo? Specifically with regard to ITB summing?
