NAMM: A-Designs 500-series Pultec Clone...

by Chris Randall

A-Designs is releasing a Pultec EQ clone in the API 500-series modular format. Now that the 500 format is really starting to take off, we're starting to see some modules that fall outside the scope of things that can be described using the term "mic pre." This little box looks nice as hell, I'll say that much, and A-Designs doesn't fuck around where quality is concerned. Nothing on A-Designs' website yet, but the press release is available on the PMN press release farm. No price, but it ain't gonna be cheap.

For just a few bucks more, I'd take the Manley tube Pultec, or for only $1275 MSRP, the solid state Langevin version. This is for 500 fans only, ya'd think.

Fortunately, I'm a 500 series fan! I'm looking forward to this one.
