Move complete...

by Chris Randall

Okay, that wasn't fun at all, but Shaolin Fist Of Death Studio (Mini Quasi-Mobile Iteration) is now in situ. Clickies for a much larger image, so you can go over my rack screw placement pixel by pixel. I still have to figure out how the fuck to shoehorn my controller keyboard in here, but otherwise, I'm good to go. I have everything in this room I need to work on Audio Damage stuff and play Warcraft, so all else is academic. Back out to the real Studio in March or April.

Dig that panelling.

Smoking in the studio!? I'm a chimney, but I've never gone that far... okay, maybe twice.

How could you possibly leave behind your Adams?

Okay, first of all, Chesterfield Kings aren't made any more, so I don't have a choice.

Second of all, are those not Adam A7s in the picture?

And third, I don't trust people that care more about their gear than they do about their lungs. The music industry is the last bastion of the unrepentant smoker.

Smoking doesn't do shit to gear. If you think it does than you're a Nazi-pedophile.

I meant to say that "then" you're a Nazi pedophile. Which is worse and less offensive.

Wait... forget about the smoking.... Dr. Pepper? Are you crazy? That stuff makes you deaf!!

American Spirit roll-ups - don't burn out when you leave them in your ashtray, smoke doesn't permeate quite so strongly, and cheaper by about $25 bucks a week.

Even if smoking does no real damage to gear, smoking lowers the resale value of gear (if the buyer can smell it). Since I have taken my gear into smokey enviornments and they have no smell, if I can smell cigarettes on gear I usually figure someone has got to be doing a shitload of smoking to get metal and plastic to absorb the smell.

aaaah i love smoke infiltrated wood coming from my moog prodigy every morning when i wake up.
It's bad enough to smell some old fart when you pick up a second hand instrument and returning that same smell into your home.
Besides biting your nails is a nice stress and smoke replacement.
