Bleh...

by Chris Randall

We're having stupendously bad weather here in the Pacific Northwest for the last week. We lost power yesterday evening, and it has only just come back on.

Let me state for the record that being a musician in this day and age requires electricity. I can play guitar okay, and I have a really nice Ibanez acoustic, but that gets boring quickly.

That should teach you to always keep a spare battery for you laptop fully charged. Now with that MBox 2 Mini you be rocking in the dark, at least for a little while anyway.

Heh. If I only had a laptop... My iBook has died, and isn't worth fixing. My HP laptop is on loan to one of teamPOSI. I almost went and bought a new MacBook this morning just so I could check my email. (And that, my friends, is the true definition of the word "junky".)

And viz. the CMU-800, I actually made an eBay account special just to bid on it. If one of you motherfuckers outbids me, I swear to god I'm coming to your house to administer some discipline.

Are there any products available in the boutique electrical generator market? I bet Metasonix could put something interesting together.

Metasonix. Don't even get me started. I'll simply say that neither their products nor their marketing style impresses me.

Metasonix = peas on the cob (take something that tastes bad, and make it harder to eat.)

After reading his articles for years, I'd say that Eric Barbour is almost as smart as he thinks he is. He knows a hell of a lot about vacuum tubes than I do, and he's pretty generous with that knowledge. But if is his stuff sounds anything like the tone of his writing...

didn't you get a tr-606? they run on batteries.. as does numerous other x0x boxes.. that new MPC500 runs on batteries as well. personally i think it's a bit overpriced but it will solve your no electricity problem in a pinch.

anyway- guess i've been lucky so far (knock on wood) no power outages here yet. another storm is coming on wednesday and the snow level is down to 3000ft tonight.

I moved to FL right b4 all the hurricane madness in 04.....Generators work miracles.... get one for true junkie back up. Or find someone closeby who has power, and water, and bags and bags of potato chips. FL ppl go fuckin nuts when power goes out. No Air conditioner.

"...being a musician in this day and age requires electricity."

Isn't the upcoming CR record an acoustic affair?
