WTB 606...

by Chris Randall

Okay, I'm looking for a pair of TR-606s. If you have one to sell, drop me a line and let me know about it, or if you know of one not on the 'bay. Cosmetic issues aren't important, but they need to be in full working order.

That's what the new AD plug in is going to be isn't it?
I hope so, I've always wanted a 606. I'd imagine this will be the next best thing :)

Since there isn't anything in the way of tone controls on the 606, would you gain much having the real thing versus just using samples?

a fun sequencer?

The real thing gives you the fun sequencer (as dm said), the simplistic joy of a little box with knobs and blinky lights that makes noises, and the ineffable qualities of analog sound generation which cannot be captured and recreated with sampling.

Mostly I want one because I'm an old Skinny Puppy fan.

Yeah, we just decided we both wanted one. Nothing nefarious. Other than the fact that Adam has about ten times the shit I do, we tend to buy the same gear.

ah, adam, you're bringing me back to the intro of "rodent" on rabies, one of the puppy's finer 606 moments. :)

nothing like a 606 and a midi modded Boss DR-110 through a few Guitar Pedals.

oooooh, to be 16 years old and in love....

and you could always add aftermarket tune and envelope controls to a TR-606..
