And speaking of played...

I know this band is sooooo last week and all, but you gotta hand it to 'em for this performance. I mean, if there's a Cool Event Horizon, beyond which you can't get any cooler, they reached it. (Via Der Matrix.)

somehow, i've completely managed to read all about this "gnarls barkley" danger mouse/cee-lo thing and until watching this video, had yet to hear it. interesting stuff.

i love chris vrenna's 'tweaker' discs, but he's not grooving too well here (i blame the wookie rug...).

i wanna hear reggie from maktub singing this track - he'd stomp on it, mash it around, kill it a little, and then make it dance all over again.

Yup. I'm in the same boat as you. I'd managed to not hear GB until the MTV Movie Awards. They were on Letterman not too long ago, and I was going to catch up then, but I fell asleep.

But, by the same token, anyone expecting outstanding musicianship on an MTV awards show stage is in for a rough ride.

I'm not sure if it is chris vrenna on drums. When i saw them at Conan Obrien , which was all dressed in bathropes he actually played a different beat. And i've seen several footage of another guy playing.
Besides chris is small and this wookie is bigger it seems....

i'm feelin the letterman version. all trendyness aside - it's a very well written song.

motown songs had actual choruses and bridges. nu r&b choruses tend to just drone on the same chords as the rest of the song. 4 chords, 1 per bar, spinning round and round and round.........

That wookie does look a bit large to be the Pod, now that you mention it. But it's definitely him. I've known Chris for 15 years, and can see his drumming a mile away/

Choruses are the new verses and bridges. Seems to me a lot of new stuff likes to jump right to the money shot. No foreplay, attention spans are too short.

I do like the fact that they change up the arrangement of this song for the different appearances. It actually make it listenable.
