Piano Shed...

by Chris Randall

Sometimes, in piano recitals, the performer feels the need to drop some science. I personally prefer players that are more concerned with emoting than playing perfectly (think Glenn Gould in his most pilled-out versus Horowitz, if such a comparision was possible), but now and again it's kind of cool to see someone give a clinic. I wouldn't want the CD or anything, but when he launched in to that first flurry, I was like "fuuuuck...."

Well, wouldn't want to live next to him.

Did you mean 'Piano Shred'?

My favorite shredder is the always jovial Michael Angelo Batio doing speed shredding on a double necked guitar while playing both at the same time. Marvel at his ability to do hammer ons with this giant thing above his head. But especially marvel at his hair.

This is one of the the best clips of him.

I meant "shed," as in "this guy's gonna take you out to the wood shed and learn you a thing or two."

Oh, god. Please stop with the tap-tastic double-necked shite. It's actually quite terrible.
