Fucktard of the week...

by Chris Randall

Just throw your hands in the mother-fuckin' air, and wave the motherfuckers like you just don't care. That's right. MC Cul-De-Sac is gonna spit mad rhymes. Word.

Man. And I was just about to click "Gimmie" on an Apogee Rosetta 800 and API 8200A/2500 combo. Well, this will save me about $7500. Thank god I was clued in to the Emu 1604 trick in time.

Let me see whether I'm getting this right: the guy on gearslutz is doing his digital summing in the mixer/router hardware on his Emu card, and thinks that this is vastly superior to doing his digital summing in Cubase SX?

Oh-kay.

I do all my summing using Soundedit 16 with a Digidesign AudioMedia LC card because you can't beat the vintage converters. They add a certain "je ne sais qua" to all my tracks. Unfortunately, It won't run under Tiger in my G5, so I'm upgrading to an iMic and an 1/8" cable I found on the street. Don't worry, my rates won't go up. ;)

My prefered method of summing is breaking all my tracks out onto a mackie 1202, then run them through a behringer eurodesk, followed by my trusty behringer feedback eliminator, and finally back into my mac performa 5200 at 22khz.

What happened to all those absurd JP whatshisname threads? Those took the alltime fucktard cake.

The best summing technique is to strip the cables with a kitchen knife and tape the wires together with duct tape. Of course when you want to change levels, you have to undo the tape and twist in more or less wire. Besides that you cant beat this method.
