Four Measures Of Fury - May

by Chris Randall

Yup, it's that time again! Here's your loop. The key is Cm, and the tempo is 90 bpm. This one is a little more challenging, and a little less funky, as a couple people requested last month. It's a tiny piece of a song I'm working on currently.

If you're not in the know, we do FMOF the first Saturday of every month. You download the loop, and edit/chop/slice/dice/whatever it to your heart's content. The resulting file must be the same tempo and key, but otherwise, you're free to have your way with it. You may use only the provided source material. No extra samples or synthesis. You can, of course, resynthesize pieces of the included loop.

Export the results of your labours and zip it up and e-mail it to me, or post a link to it in one of the FMOF threads throughout the week. At midnight next Friday, I'll assemble all the loops in chronological order, and post the resulting track.

Tell me something I don't know... but I don't understand your comment in this context.

Just that you came up with a really tricky one this time...

I decided to go with a little 8bit-hippie prayer circle-nursery rhyme on this one. I've had the theme song to Simon and the Land of Chalk Drawings in my head since you posted that line the other day, so possibly that is the culprit.

Is it just me or is that wav file corrupt? I've tried it in a couple of different tools and under windows and linux and nothign seems to want to read it.

hmm, strange. I opened it in Ableton (and winamp) all went fine.
I guess you have tried to download it again? It may have been corrupted by the digital transporting elves.

Is it possible that your system has trouble with 24-bit .wav files?

Its much much worse than that. It would seem I was suffering from a large case of stupid. All the default handlers and preview apps (windows media player...im looking in your general direction) seemed to have trouble with it...but you know...when I bothered to take the time to pull it up in a real app....

nothing to see here....move along.
