Okay, this is going a bit too far...

Yup. That's basically a soundcard in a cable. USB on one end, 1/4" on the other. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but the very first thing that popped in to my head when I saw that was "Boy, I bet that sounds great." Seventy bucks and it's yours. Check out their wicked cool website. Come on, guys. At least expend some effort.

There's a bunch. They're all lame. The lamest of the bunch is the Behringer one, of course, but you can get one that is almost as lame from several different manufacturers. Lame On Tap, basically. But don't say "Tap" too loud. This is guitar stuff we're talking about.

Obviously, this is a 1/4" jack; it can be plugged in to anything, not just a guitar. I wonder how they dealt with the low Z/high Z issue, but I don't wonder that much. Chances are, they didn't.

Its easy to laugh at stuff like this when you are outside the target market. For JoeBob Guitar Hero down in Dog Patch Tennessee I bet this is pretty darn cool....

Oh and on the topic of Berringer, it seems lately that I cant go anywhere here in Tokyo without spotting one of their silver plated dog turd products somewhere. More's the pity.

The best goodie is the practice amp that matches your iPod, now that is a MUST HAVE!

The nice thing about being outside the target market is that I _can_ laugh at stuff like this. That's the cool thing about the music industry. Once you've paid your dues, you get a Class A License to be a snob. Not many businesses like that out there.

If it was USB to a set of earphones, or maybe even USB to RCA jacks, it would make sense. But USB to 1/4" mono?

Is this some sort of guitar thing?
