Hard-Core Gear Porn Friday!!!

by Chris Randall

Time to cue up "Thus Spake Zarathustra" because the Monolith is here, and we're about to start hitting each other with bones. The above multi-vendor system is owned (or rather was owned, as it is now "30% more wee") by one Vogelsheiss. My German is rusty, but I'm pretty sure that means "hot chicken" or something. Anyways, Charles Graef (which is his real name, I assume, since "Hot Chicken" doesn't work too well with the ladies. Well. maybe German ladies...) is unique among our HCGPF representatives inasmuch as the MP3s available on his site are actually quite good. Like, really good. Good enough that I'll ignore that 1402 just sitting there, all out in the open and naked-like.

that probably works much better with most of the german ladies I've known. then again I'm pretty sure they were not representative of the overall germanic female population...

Wow...

I think hes going to get his gear license revoked. I was under the impression that if you had a modular taller than you are that you were only allowed to make space music.

$0.03 mass-produced op-amps are fine with me if they spent $250k to develop them.

What am I missing here?

The Mackie bashing will never get old and is a vital part of HCGPF.

We never seem to get the opposite though. I want to see a stack of Casios plugged into some uber Neve console.

Being in smart ass mode today, I think Mackie ought to spent $250k on spellchecking their web site. Or is 'Esoteriec' some l33t new term I am not aware of? ;-)
Cheers

From the Mackie site -

>>>A mic preamp should be able to protect itself from destructive external forces.

CR, I'm pretty sure you qualify as a destructive external force.

I actually have vogelsheisses old synthesizers.com 44 space cabinet - he moved to concentrate on the doepfer and I had 44 spaces worth of modules I needed a cabinet for.

I should take some shots of everything and submit for a HCGPF, no mackie or behringer but I do have a tasty Yammy mixer for submixing some string synths and a DP/4 and SE50 ;)

>>and SE50 ;)

I'll back you up on the SE50. I have a SE70 from about 12 years ago. I use one effect from it, and I use it on EVERYTHING. ; )
