Hard-Core Gear Porn Friday!!!

by Chris Randall

In all the months of doing this, I don't think we've come across a place with this many synths, except for Zimmerland and that place from South America on the old site. Pictured above is most of the Selector and a small (!!!) piece of the A100 from Parallel Worlds, an electronic music studio owned by Bakis Sirros, the moderator of the Doepfer A100 user group. (I'd actually put it this way: he 0wnz0rs the A100 user group, judging from his collection of same.)

I know I usually list the gear, with snide comments about same, but I wouldn't even know where to begin with this guy's stuff. Basically, start with a list of, like, everything, and just subtract the stuff he doesn't have. It'd be easier. Located in Athens, Greece, Parallel Worlds is exactly that, a place where a keyboardist can frolic in verdant fields of patch cords. Well, I don't know about the "frolic" part, but everything else is basically correct. Here's the studio, and don't say I didn't warn you. Take particular note of this photo and wallow in the despair of knowing that you'll never, ever have a modular that big. Neither will I. Thanks to Harri from Finland for the link.
