Self-tuning guitar (again)?

by Chris Randall

Yet another self-tuning guitar thing-a-ma-bob, this time from Tronical. ("You play. We Tune." How 'bout that?) I tend to lump these sorts of things in the "solutions to problems you didn't know you had" folder, which is the same place I put almost all haptic MIDI interfaces. It's so fucking hard to tune a guitar that you need to purchase what is, in effect, a robot to do it? Sorry, but guitarists already get all the chicks without much work. I don't really see any need to make their job easier. I can't find a price, but I can't see how it would be cheap. Currently for Strats of various flavors and the ubiquitous Les Paul models. EDIT: Apparently, it is $800. So, an American Strat costs $799, and to make it so it will stay in tune is a dollar more.

Haptic MIDI interfaces? You know something the rest of us don't? ;-)

You know the other thing that really gets my goat? Flying cars.

But, yeah, totally agreed -- just pay $800 and HIRE a dude/dudette to sit by your guitar and tune it for you.
