Mmmmm. Buchla.

by Chris Randall

Our good friend Lorne Hammond organized an Analog Event at the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, BC over the weekend, and a local music school brought out this vintage Buchla modular. No particular reason for posting this other than blatant porn.

Gratuitous Buchla porn is never a bad idea. Here's my favorite, you all have probably seen it before, but just in case:

link [www.buchla.com]">link [www.buchla.com]

It has all the makings. fine wood grain, cassette data storage, analog vu meters alongside the built-in CRT, dot matrix printer. and it even comes with it's own electric typewriter. God bless Don Buchla, that's all i'm saying.

I know i won't make any friends with this statment but I think it's funny how everybody is bashing the roland SH201 for it's uglyness (I agree), yet with the even more colorful, playmobil looking Buchlas everybody goes: 0MGR0FL tH1z l00ks KEWL 11one!!! I'm not talking about plastic vs. metal casings or the sounds coming out of those machines, but these Buchlas look atleast as aweful as the roland boxes.
