Hard-Core Gear Porn Friday!!!

by Chris Randall

Wow. Wow. Wow.

Jaysen sends me a pointer to Edmund Eagan's Twelfth Root studio in Ottawa, Canada. This fellow has a 12-panel Serge system with a custom laser-cut aluminum stand, created by Mike Adjillian. While the system as a whole lives in a studio, it sure does look like a live performance rig to me. Really nice piece of work, that.

aluminum is lightweight. dunno about titanium but stainless would weigh a ton.

Aluminum and titanium are both light, while stainless is not, true enough. Also, aluminum costs about a 10th of titanium and a fifth of stainless. While it's worth noting that each one of those Serge panels is, at a minumum, three grand, the stand must have cost on the order of five grand to have made, if I had to hazzard a guess. Maybe more. But out of titanium it would easily be three times that.

I would have had it made out of platinum. But I don't fuck around.

hmmm . He could have done some really cool electrical coloration if he used Nobium ;-)

or even annodized the aluminium , so it won't oxidize .

oh, but my humor is lost .

Nothing wrong with a Control or HUI. They're pretty good pieces. But they don't pass audio.

Was the Nobium comment a reference to body jewelry? Is this guy a piercer?
