ZOMGWTFBBQ BUY NOW!!!

by Chris Randall

SimpleMidiPad was approved, and is now available in the iTunes App Store for immediate purchase. It is what Apple calls "Tier 2 pricing," which means $1.99 in the US and Canada, and all kinds of arbitrary amounts in the rest of the world. It is iPad only, as we've gone over in previous threads on the subject.

Let me know what you think, and what I need to do to improve it. The next one on deck is a bouncy ball shizzle (like that one on that one device which ceased to be made not too long ago) which I'm still putting the finishing touches on.

What program did you use to make this with?

XCode. I didn't use any 3rd party kits or SDKs. This is straight-up Obj-C iPad app shit.

Did iOS 4.3 or iPad 2 have any impact on this app? Will it require an update for optimal use with them?

Bought it. OK, here's where I reveal myself to be even more of an idiot than people already thought:

I can understand the X and Y, but what is the "Z" axis?

Side note: needed to be said: I like the simplicity of this thing, design-wise.

I got an iPad as a gift from a client for whom I had done a lot of charity work. When I received it, I didn't really know what I would do with it. Now it's so essential to so many things I do, it's insane.

Z is depth, I'm guessing here that it will correspond to the on/off of your finger, spitting out 0 for off, 127 for on in MIDI values.

Just bought it. Seems v.nice. Excellent. I like the simple app/$1.99 model.

Also grabbed the Kraftwerk Kling Klang app while in the app store. Might be fun.

Got the app. Thanks. :-)

Off-topic: since you already got heaps of my euros, tell me where I can acquire myself those lovely 3.5 mm cables? I tried to do a quick search, but...
