Discord3 v1.0.1 OS X Now Available...

by Chris Randall

We just pushed out v1.0.1 of Discord3 for OS X, and it is now in the AD store for download. This update essentially duplicates the update of a little while ago for Windows, fixing the infamous Fart Bug in the granular engine. It is recommended for all OS X users of Discord3.

This update also has a couple minor things addressed you wouldn't notice and one major thing you wouldn't notice. This update replaces VSTGUI3.5 with VSTGUI4, which we need to use for upcoming 64-bit janks. It shouldn't affect you in any way, shape, or form, but if you run in to anything graphics-related, be sure to drop me a line via the AD Info Line.

Next is the Axon multi-outs update, which Adam is gonna tackle tomorrow, and then the Replicant 1.5 update. I should be able to show you a design mock-up in a couple days, once I have it worth looking at.

Completely inconsequential aside: originally the defect was internally referred to as the Honk Bug. That's what I called it when I checked its fix into our source-code repository. While I was working on the Discord3 update, CR mentioned "the Burp Bug" and it took me a couple of minutes to figure out that he meant the Honk Bug. Now he's calling it the Fart Bug.

This sort of vernacular gets even more amusing when he's trying to describe differences in timbre to me while we're working on a new plug-in.

Discord 3 is gonna be my next purchase....
But only if you can get those very metallic tones when you crank the feedback and set the delay times to say 00 - 12 ms ..... I likes its mojo what i hear in the demos though.

Guys, I own about 10 plugins from you I think, but is there a way to receive e-mail notifications for when updates are released?

The download page in the store account doesn't tell me which of the plugins have been updated since I last visited that page, only since my purchase... So unless I spot it here on your blog, I have to figure out myself whether I need to download update or I already have it.

It actually shows updates available since your last log-in, but some of the older plug-ins are out of whack, as we haven't updated them since this iteration of the site came on. The newer ones are all correct, though.

That said, it costs quite a bit of money to mail our mailing list; I was waiting until the Axon update was done, then I was going to do a mail mentioning both. Seemed to be a more cost-effective method to me. But if you subscribe to the RSS feed off the front page of the store, that is the first place that any update is mentioned. Second is my Twitter feed, and the third is here. I wish more people would use the RSS feed, frankly.

@intelliko: here's a demo showing what I think is the sort of "metallic tones" you have in mind:
