AES: Rumors and shit...

by Chris Randall

There are a couple unsubstansiated rumors about this product and that seen at AES. Of course, if I had have gone, they wouldn't be unsubstansiated, because I'd substansiate them. But since I didn't, and thus can't, I provide them here as if they were Real News.

Chandler TG1 as TDM plug-in: I've read in several places that Chandler was showing a TDM plug of their TG-1 Abby Road Limiter, or something similar. I don't really care because it's TDM, and thus over-priced and for a closed system I couldn't give two shits about. But maybe it will excite some of you.

Synthax Algorithmix software goes native: I know, I know. You're saying the same thing I am. "Who? What? Why?" Exactly. Synthax owns RME, so there's that. Anyways, they have these plug-ins for DirectX, and they're telling people that they'll be releasing them for VST/AU. Don't know why this wasn't banner headlines...

I don't really care about the Synthax stuff (and I'm in a big club, there) but the Chandler rumor is interesting. Any readers see the plug? Any hope of it going native?

Now, _that_ is a good rumor. Those kids make some nice plugs.
