I quickly did a WHOIS on the site, got the technical contact, and called this kid in Florida and just opened up. I may have used the word "fucking" occasionally. Turns out, the site got hijacked, so it was (nominally) not his fault. My lovely and talented wife broke in to the admin for the site, and started merrily deleting files so the store wouldn't work, while I gave Paypal and the guy's ISP a good bell-ringing.
Long story short, problem solved, at least temporarily. I'm on a Piracy Rampage, though. Fair warning.
Yup. That's basically a soundcard in a cable. USB on one end, 1/4" on the other. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but the very first thing that popped in to my head when I saw that was "Boy, I bet that sounds great." Seventy bucks and it's yours. Check out their wicked cool website. Come on, guys. At least expend some effort.
Click the image for the full-size. This is the final UI for Discord 2. We felt that the hardware-looking one was just too busy and and hard on the eyes, so I went with a more modern UI for this. I'm going to give Ronin and Deverb the same facelift. While I prefer the hardware look for plugins, in some cases it is simply too much, you know?
In any case, here 'tis. The UI is in code freeze, so unless there's a typo or something, this is what is going out with the final product. This will be US$49.00, with a $10.00 upgrade to owners of Discords 1.0 or 1.5.
If you care about this, you no doubt know already, but Apple announced the 17" MBP today. I need to replace my iBook in the worst way, but not to the tune of $2799. I think I'll be waiting until the MacBook notPros are announced. I'm of the considered opinion that the 15" will run $999. That would be a pretty big coup on Apple's part.
Sure, I'm a cynical old bastard, but you don't need to make it easy on me. I mean, really, now.
